VioFFQ
VioFFQ is an innovative electronic system that collects data on dietary behavior and food use patterns, estimates nutrient intake, and delivers a dietary change report.

This web-based system allows subjects to self-administer a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) from a standard PC or a tablet computer connected to the Internet. Subjects can log on to VioFFQ and register under your organization. At completion, the results are immediately available to you for export and analysis via our administrative tool, VioCenter. VioFFQ improves the quality of dietary assessment through technologies such as improved branching, which intuitively skips questions deemed irrelevant on the basis of previous answers.

VioFFQ offers unique advantages over paper FFQs, which require tedious data entry and management as well as complex data manipulations to generate useful reports on nutrient intake and dietary patterns. This system provides an option for automated "tailored" behavior feedback based on a comprehensive dietary assessment.

The system is highly customizable to allow flexibility to capture regional/ethnic food patterns, use different languages and font sizes, and focus on specific nutrients and food components.

VioFFQ was a collaborative development effort between Viocare Technologies, Inc., Dr. Alan Kristal of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Dr. Julie O'Sullivan Maillet of UMDNJ and past president of the American Dietetic Association, and Dr. Phyllis Stumbo of the University of Iowa.

The dietary analysis utilizes the food and nutrient information from the Nutrition Coordinating Center (NCC) Food and Nutrient Database developed and maintained by the NCC, located at the University of Minnesota Division of Epidemiology and Community Health in Minneapolis.
